Family Grief Therapy (For Families Experiencing a Loss or Medical Trauma)

  • Together, we will listen and empathize with each family member’s experience with the medical trauma or the loss.

  • Understand shifts in the family structure causing dysfunction.

  • Assist the family with understanding and adapting to new structure.

  • Focus on communication, cohesion, and conflict resolution.

Family with Special Needs Child/Children:

  • We will listen and empathize with each family member’s experience as a collective.

  • We will support neurotypical siblings in feeling heard and understood. We will ensure positive communication and respect.

  • The therapist will provide psychoeducation around the needs of neurotypical and neurodivergent by exploring parenting styles.

  • Practice self-regulation among family members and eliminate conflict between parent and child or child and sibling.

  • Build family connection through awareness, patience, and respect.
